Big project part 2...

Let me say a few kind words about my husband...
He did a great job sanding the floor and finishing (3coats of varnish)
OK got that out of the way..

Here are a few pictures

Looks really good...

So after I painted, I decided that we need new baseboards..so my husband got a knife and showed me how to score the baseboard where the paint had gotten on them ( which is almost the whole thing), so I did one wall and the baseboard came off nicely..
BUT
my husband decided I was too slow!!!
So he took over and just ripped the rest out.
Needless to say it did not come off nicely, in fact it only took 30 seconds. Here are some pictures that will do all the talking.

Here is the wall I did.

And the rest of the room looks like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet if I try just a little it will peel all the way up to the ceiling.

Now I have to fix this..

Ugh and I have to ask him how to fix it.. he will say just paint and the higher baseboard will cover the rest..

Well that's just what I'm gonna do, so why even ask...

BIG Project.. part 1

Today we woke up and decided its time to "rip out some really bad carpet" so bad that I refuse to show detailed pic's.
Thank goodness my husband is a do it your self kinda guy,
He has taught me how to hang drywall, sand and finish wood floors, cut tile, but mostly I hold things in place. Oh and I'm the painter in the family.
This is what got done this weekend.,
The first piece of the carpet....with grease from the treadmill
(that's all of the carpet you get to see)

Almost done..We removed all the tack strips around the room...my husband was faster than me, I only managed the door way and half of another wall...

The floor is pretty bad but nothing a lot of sanding won't take care of..

Now on to my job painting..
but first I had to do something important...
 Take a break.....

The ceiling took 1 gallon of paint (2 coats)

From pure white to Eurolinen (behr) a light mocha/tan...

I finished the ceiling and cutting for the walls around 4. I was just going to cut and then paint on Sunday, but I decided to paint til 5....and then go shopping..
From a golden yellow to Arabian Sand (behr) darker mocha/tan

Well by the time 5 rolled around, I had just about painted the whole room..
and
I
could
not
move.
So I did not go shopping.

I finished the 2nd coat on Sunday..
I still have touch ups, baseboard and trim to paint.
Lucky for me my husband will sand and put a varathaine on the floor..

Then I hope we can get a new couch...

Stay tuned for the rest of the room....
